Then why not start a new thread, and copy and quote what your responding too, with a link to the approptiate thread, or individual post?

Because its pointless to have two or ten threads about the same thing. If people are interested in the subject then they can reread the OP. As long as they aren't derailing then it shouldn't be an issue.

It's as easy for someone to open a new thread as it is to necro one, with the added value of not starting a conversation with an unknown antecedent. Would you start a conversation with, "Well, Mary told me to so I did?"

Dude, don't go stupid again cause its really annoying. He didn't start a random topic in a thread that had nothing to do with anything.

The above is correct in this particular case. However, it can't really be called a fair moderator practice to not apply the same requests across the board. You're the one who likes to bitch about the moderators here and our heinously unfair practices - one would think that you'd prefer such an attempt to be even-handed.

Unless, of course, you just like to bait people because you're a pea-brained slime mold with nothing better to do. You know, "if."
