I like all the actors in that movie, and yet, I wasn't able to get interested, even after a half hour of viewing...

With Jack still on it...Rochey wrote:Heartily second Titanic. About two hours into the movie I was thinking "Jesus Christ, will this f***ing ship just sink already?"
Agreed on Fellowship, and about the Scouring of the Shire, but Jackson fucked the second film as well. He seriously messed up Theoden's character by having him run away to Helm's Deep rather than simply diverting there to draw Sauruman's army after him. Plus there was all that nonsense surrounding Aragorn. And he treated Faramir abominally.kostmayer wrote:Hated the film also. I loved the first two LOTR films, but they ruined the third - they cut out the scouring of the Shire. The whole moral of the LOTR stories for me was that you can never go home again.
Umm... no. I couldn't (and still can't) think of any possible reason why they changed the role of Luthien Tinuviel for the movie at all. To have her still be the princess of Rivendell, yet also fill Glorfindel's role in the first film, was abominable. Her over-presence also minimized the difference between Elrond's house and the Galadriel, queen of the Noldor.Rochey wrote:And the sheer amount of screentime given to Liv frickin' Tyler. Seriously, did anyone give a damn about that subplot?
Holy crap, we agree on something!Captain Seafort wrote:...And The Usual Suspects was excellent.
I never got that at all, but I guess you have to go into it expecting to see a typical Kubrick attitude.RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:2001: A Space odyssey.
