Yeah, she's really something. That's why I feel lonely; you can't spend a lot of time around someone that vital and intense without feeling a little empty and restless when they leave. At least she's happy and safe, and I don't have to worry about her. Seriously, brother, the good parts of meaningful relationships are well worth the pain when things don't go your way.Reliant121 wrote:thank you Tsukiyumi. You have more options, and that's always good. But, you should never look for someone perfect, because no one is. There will always be flaws; you have to focus on what you like in someone, rather than obsessing over the negatives.Reliant121 wrote:I'll keep that in mind. Yeah, she took off about three weeks ago, and I was a bit worried about her situation. She came and got her stuff two weeks ago, and now she's safely back with her boyfriend. I can breathe easier for sure. She can be a bit reckless, at times. Like I said, though, I'm sure that when she's able, she'll be back on here. She became a bit obsessed with the forum, and grew quite fond of you guys.Rochey wrote:I was wondering why Uzume had disappeard lately.

Excelent point, Tsu. I've seen plenty of people wasting their time searcing for Mr./Ms Right. Well, it's nice to know she's okay. I just noticed a few days ago that she hadn't been on the forum in ages, and I started wondering whether she was alright. The first key to any good relationship is friendship. In my experience, common interests are paramount if you're looking for a long-term partner.Rochey wrote:Excelent point, Tsu. I appreciate the concern, Rochey, and I'm sure she'll be happy that people cared when she went AWOL.Rochey wrote:Well, it's nice to know she's okay. I just noticed a few days ago that she hadn't been on the forum in ages, and I started wondering whether she was alright. Nice to know she is.

Well, I had an absolutely insane day at work today (but that's a good thing - two new cars burning gas since this morning, plus a deal on one more) so I haven't been able to check on everybody's doings today.
Reliant - iit's a remarkable sign of maturity for you to feel as bad about the situation as you do. Remember that if it doesn't hurt, then the good parts must not be so good. As far as the "right" person, you're too young to go missing all the opportunities you have just because you're looking for something else. I had dated (and done other things to) a lot of women, searching for something indefinable, and then met the love of my life completely by accident, and after I had resigned to stop searching so damned hard. I started dating her 17 years ago, married her 8 years ago, and she gave me a beautiful daughter 3 years ago.
Tsukiyumi - glad to hear Uzume is well. If you happen to be in contact with her, tell her we look forward to seeing her here again. On the flip side, I know what it's like to be without someone who has been a big part of your life, even in a non-romantic capacity, and I'm sorry... but these things have a funny way of fixing themselves.

Ah, this isn't the first time I've not been able to see her; we've been friends for ten years last December. She's living about sixty miles from here, though, so it will be a while before we get to hang out again. I'll probably speak with her in the next couple of days, and I'll be sure to tell her that her presence is appreciated here. She'll be delighted.

I forgot to mention that you should never ignore the negative qualities of a partner, just try not to fixate on them unless they're serious.I wrote:...There will always be flaws; you have to focus on what you like in someone, rather than obsessing over the negatives...

So true, Tsukiyumi. Don't ignore them completely, just don't fixate on them. My brother could've learned from that piece of advice. I won't go into it, it's just way too long...
As for me, I'm going to be best man at my best friend Tyson's wedding. He and his fiance' Carrie are tying the knot on March 29. No, no strippers at the bachelor party, I've heard way too many bad stories. Just a nice dinner and some "special presents" (some may require batteries

$250 for the 4 of you?
Wow, were you guys drinking "top shelf" stuff, Stolichnaya, Patron, Crown Royal, like that? Or was it beer? If it was beer, PLEASE don't tell me it was Budweiser. That's just German for urine-flavored water. I'm a Sam Adams Boston Lager man myself.

Four people? For my bachelor party, three buds took me out to see Sister Machine Gun, and we ran a $250 bar tab. Yes, just for the four of us.
$250? That's over sixty dollars each!
Jeez, just for that I'm going to have to make you an honourary Irishman.
