I can't promise timeliness, because my schedule varies wildly day-to-day, but if you wanted to send over some manageable chunks at a time:

Damn! How annoying is that... I've got in every single post except for one! It cuts off on what should be the very last post of the chapter... I'll just make that the start of the next one. So it seems that each message/post can only take up to 65,000 characters. There's 11,000 words in it, and that's only 2.5 pages worth of write-up. From what we've wrote so far, there's actually a short novel's worth!

Extended History:
At the age of 13 Minnsky joined CSSM before this he led the average Marshian life, doing school work during night hours and playing in the dusty battle fields at day. His move to the CSSM was no surprise. His mother was assistant chief at the time and his older sister a layman on production floor. His interest in the engineering department came from his father, a diplomat of the Mars people to Utopia Planitia and surrounding Starfleet buildings. As such Jim Minnsky would take his son to the federation docks and show him things.
Metler would stay in CSSM for seven years working on different ships that came in and some times working with designers. He was known as the "The Mik" on the repair deck for his habit of coming up with strange repairs and new ways to improve the ships; many of these ideas are still in use. At the age of twenty Metler started to feel unchallenged, in Marshian tradition he asked his parents about it, this brought him to StarFleet. Deciding to skip the potentially boring academy he enlisted, with his history in engineering and politics he was accepted and posted on the Grensh as an engineer specialist.
His posting on the Grensh was a new and welcomed challenge. He made many friends and enjoyed any time he could get in main engineering. He spent more time there then any were else, working, eating, thinking and sometimes sleeping. On Dec 10th 2374 Metler was working on the bridge when Captain T'Don ordered the ship to open fire on a Cardassian freighter. The crew of the Grensh followed their orders thinking that the captain had a good reason behind it. He didn't. The freighter stood no chance and was destroyed. They fled the seen and Metler questioned his commander. Metler was still on the bridge when a Galor class showed up to investigate the incident. T'Don was belligerent and the galor opened fire. Thirty seconds into the battle Minnskys leg was crushed under a beam and his left lung was punctured multiple times by a display. Thirty five seconds into the battle Ensign James Grutov shot the captain with a phaser and ordered a retreat, soon after he ordered evacuation. The Grensh exploded one minute after the battle started, with it all but twenty crew. They floated in space for three days and were picked up by the U.S.S Enterprise NCC 1071-E. It is here that Minnsky received his mechanical leg.
For the remainder of the year there was an investigation leading to the Promotion of all twenty survivors. During this time Minnsky stayed on his home world and found out about the Carpathia class, as soon as he could he signed up for it. They accepted him as Second Engineer. His service on the Carpathia was exemplary and by the second year he had earned himself a promotion on 2376. On the Carpathia he also met his mentor Reg'tr, the chief engineer. A Romulan who had defected, through this mentor he has learned Romulan and had a chance to serve on a Romulan ship for one week. This was an exchange program that Captain Pulaskee set up. Though he did not need to Minnsky risked his life to gather information on new Romulan technology and ship movements. He also befriended the Carpathias Cardassian Security chief and Bolan science officer learning as much as he could about their species.
On 2379 the Carpathia returned to space dock for a major refit witch would take a year.
Minnsky took this time to approach Starfleet Engineering Corps on an engine idea that he had been working on. The concept was considered too dangerous and improbable to take the recourses to study and develop. An officer of the corps was quoted as saying; "We do not need to waist our recourses like we did on transwarp." Disheartened Minnsky turned to his mother in the CSSM she was unable to enlist the funds or supplies necessary for the work. During her attempts she caught the eye of Starfleet and was told to stop. It was at this time that Minnsky acquired a type 7 shuttle and disappeared from Starfleets reach. He has not been herd from since early 2379.
Amendment to log: date-2379.8:
Captain Zackry Talson of the S.S. Olivia reported contact with a type 7 shuttle christened Wells under the command of a Commander Xene. The report of his physical description leads us to believe that this is Metler Xene Minnsky. The Olivia was transporting energy supplies near the Tholian border.
Psychology Report: Dec 20th 2374 chief consoler report regarding Metler Minnsky.
Mr. Minnsky has only arrived for two of his scheduled sessions. He seems to go to the Holodeck. This dose not concern me to much. In the two sessions he showed that he was well on the rode to recovery, though he dose seem to be more absent minded as if constantly loosing focus.

everyone has done really well and their best with this rpg, it'd be great if our characters survive, that we can fashion a little saga with this crew, continuing for as long as possible.

I think the idea is for this to be just the first mission. (hence; mission alpha)
