Basically the issue is that it had to be a browser capable of the webm format. This is a freeware web video format that only a few people support. Firefox has a strong 'the web should be free' attitude, which is fine, however, it has meant that for a very very long time it didn't support mp4 (particularly x264) which became the de-facto standard. It was supported in hardware in both phones and tablets and so became a major drawback for webm.

I just watched one of my favourite cheesy B Movies, Battle Beyond the Stars, with Sybill Danning. I saw this movie as a teen and she... well, made a lasting impression.
