Throw some Johnny Cash in there to, may as well broaden his horizons with another legend. And one of the few good country singers.

Blackstar - Elvis Presley did NOT invent Rock and Roll. Check out Bill Haley and the Comets; Buddy Holly; Richie Valens; etc., etc.

Rochey - 20cc of Bob Marley? In the US, that's possession with intent to sell.

Reliant - you are an evil, evil young man for saying that about The Man in Black. To put it in a more modern perspective (although maybe not modern enough for us to have common ground) - if he was so bad, would Social Distortion have covered his song?

Even Trent Reznor said that Cash's cover of Hurt was better than his original.

The man has had an undeniable influence on music, with numerous artists claiming inspiration from him. And if you check out his history, you'll see that he is more rock 'n roll than a mority of the actual rock artists. Feel free to hate his music but you can't deny that he is a legend.

Broadening your horizons is never a bad thing, Blackstar. Some of the older stuff is leagues better than new artists.

A little anecdote at this juncture: while managing a record store, I used to take liberties with the in-store playlist - read, I played what I wanted to listen to. I had New Order playing, and when the song "Blue Monday" was on one of my teenaged clerks told me, "I can't believe somebody covered that Orgy song already!"

When I said shoot me please...I was being a little overdramatic. I was meaning I do not stomach a taste for Johnny Cash's songs. He may have had meaning and message to his songs but the delivery is not to my liking. And I am NOT evil. I merely do not wish to listen to him. Sheesh, Give me a break.

Awesome! Both quite awesome versions. I'll even admit, I had no idea it was a New Order song when the Orgy version came out. Probably discovered it a year later.
Don't you hear my call, though you're many years away, don't you hear me calling you?

I know you're not evil - but you did strike a nerve. You back off, I back off. :)

I personally can't stomach most country music... but the Man in Black has always had a certain charm and influence for me.

That sucks. :(
Well, on the bright side, there's plenty more fish in the sea.

Feel free to PM me if you want to talk about it.

Sorry to hear about that, Reliant. Breakups are always tough, even when you're 27. On an unrelated but similar topic, Uzume moved back out of town to get back with her boyfriend, so I'm feeling a bit lonely. It'll be a while before she can get internet access where she moved, but I'm sure she'll be back on here. She really likes you guys.
