Okay, I was just wondering why there hadn't been anything going on here for three days.

Per Sunnyside's attempt to talk some sense into me, I will be back if that's OK with everyone else... I'm at work right now, but I should have something by tomorrow a.m. US Eastern time.

Thanks, guys... that's good to hear. I would have posted earlier, but I was busy shoveling the driveway. Nothing like Wisconsin, of course, but I had to get to work for whatever useless time I will spend there today... I'll post my reply to Sally's summons sometime today. Rochey, I trust I can count on your character being somewhat disdainful and argumentative to a mere human?

Would I be any other way?
If you manage to impress him, though, you can gain quite a good friend. He's a useful guy to be on the right side of in a fight, and not that bad once you get to know him.

Well, you can see for yourself how I played it. I certainly didn't pull any punches - I'm finally free of answering to commisioned officers! - but I tried to end up being cordial, at least. That last comment was an attempt to explain things from your POV; I don't expect Sekhot would have shared his personal history with Gunny just yet.

Yeah, that went pretty much like how I expected such a confrontation would go. And I can't really blame you that much for having a dislike of officers, lately.

In sekhts defence his ships probably don't use the fancy federation intercom systems. (with the real time buffering, AI, and voice identification. A little namby pamby for them).

Actualy, he did that because he didn't have a communicator with him, didn't know where the intercom was in the shuttlebay, and didn't know whether there was anyone even manning the ship's comms at the time (they were docked, after all). He figured the best way to get everyone down to the hanger was to send every alarm on the ship insane.

Sekhot's ship does have communication systems that can hold real-time conversations over long distances, but any translation system is generaly going to be text-based, rather than having the speaker's voice replaced with one speaking english (or whatever).

When are we actually leaving?

Dunno.

I think Blackstar should hold a meeting for the crew. We need to know where we're going, what we'll be doing, how legal it is, what jobs we'll be doing on the ship, how much we're getting paid, etc, etc.
