i moved my distance.

Ok, I'm now in unfamiliar space, i am assuming that when my ship docks there will be a welcome party, Med crew, security, how do i go about post with other people? other RPGs i have been in ran a little different. I like this was better so for.

If you want to interact with our characters, just hatch a plan, then propose it here or pm the specific player, most will be accomodating, you could even write a little narrative/story, embark on a ship that has a course near the tholian border, and hail the daystrom, or be attacked and activate a distress call etc, and of course if you're at some distance, you could interact with us using subpace communications or whatever, again just pm the relevant party.

If you wanted to speak to my character, the mechanics could be that you pm me, with an opening statement , i respond etc and we have a in-role convo via pm-ing,then one of us writes it up as a single post

you could pm teaos, as to my knowledge he has some influence of the none player character of captain fletcher, depends on how you wish to communicate, what channels etc, whats your game plan?

If it were long range communications, I'd expect it to be Teaos (Science) or Mikey (Operations). A greeting party would be dependant upon the circumstances of your coming aboard - medical would probably be required for everyone, though.

My ship jsut made contact with the searching teams and is being brought in, remember the Wells is a type 7 shuttle. lol also my companion Mich is laying on the floor injured, thats why im heading for the Daystrom.
i would plan on docking in the bay.

As far as using someone else's character - try to read the story so far, and keep someone else's character's actions and dialogue "in character" as much as possible.

Exactly, keeping characters consistant is rather important. It would be rather odd if my character suddenly became nice and chatty.

.........if in doubt, pm the person and ask their advice, much better than assuming then inadvertently stepping on someones' toes
