You had the advantage of being trained by the best army in the world - y'know, the one most of the old IRA were fighting in a few years before. :P
Pfft, details.

Ah, yes. I can see it now. Arnold wakes up somewhere in DC, an angry George Washington standing over him.

"Oh, man, what did I do last night?"

"Last night? You've been missing for the last three years! We found you floating down the Potomac in a barrel two weeks ago. We've been trying to wake you up ever since."

Sounds like my trip to New Orleans.

Did you guys know that in certain localities, shots are considered to be an appropriate lunch order?

What's this got to do with Ireland? I can't imagine anyone with the slightest degree of self-respect order shots with lunch, let alone as lunch.

Now, a pint of Guinness, on the other hand...

And in that place at the northern end of Bourbon Street, with the cute barmaid and the jukebox, one or two more shots would've meant my death (after eroding my ability to balance my wife's presence against my more banal impulses.)

Nothing, save the continuing joke about the Irish peoples' tendency toward the sauce. Unless you know of some recent effort to relocate New Orleans.

Potatoes aren't native to Ireland either.

Interestingly enough, the whiskey which the Irish introduced to the world is known creatively as "Irish whiskey."
