Yup, they will never be as good at tech or bio as the ladies, and I'll always take the specialist over the guy who's only half as good at two things. Plus you know, they're much nicer to look at too.Tyyr wrote:As much as I like Wrex and Garrus their combat abilities aren't as useful as Liara and Tali's fully developed biotics and tech.

That's a given. Though Liara and Ashley have some nice exchanges on the Citadel.
The thing is that the AI's ability with their guns isn't as up to mine so them using things I can't is more useful. And if you use Tali's points to improve her tech abilities that's that many more I can pump into my combat stats.

The casual back n forth during the elevator rides was a nice touch.Tyyr wrote:That's a given. Though Liara and Ashley have some nice exchanges on the Citadel.
Agreed. Plus I always give my character first choice of the loot, so she had the best guns, armor, and mods. It's less of an issue if your squad mates are using entirely different gear. The thing is that the AI's ability with their guns isn't as up to mine so them using things I can't is more useful.
And being without enough tech really sucks. It's amazing how frustrating it is to have to leave a container unopened because to don't have enough points in the right skills. Which is odd, considering one of my former bitches about the game was the over saturation of drops. And if you use Tali's points to improve her tech abilities that's that many more I can pump into my combat stats.

Re: Mass Effect
The thing with drops is just sell the damn things. The gel is nice but the ability to buy spectre weapons is huge. The Spectre assault rifle upgraded with frictionless materials is a bullet hose.

Re: Mass Effect
See I never bought a damn thing all game long and never felt the lack. Maybe on the higher difficulties it would be a different matter, but on normal I got by just fine with drops.Tyyr wrote:The thing with drops is just sell the damn things. Re: Mass Effect
Sure, you can. In fact its rare for anything to be worth buying, but some things are especially tech and biotic upgrades. The Spectre weapons are the absolute top tier guns and for the higher difficult levels I would definitely say they are needed.

Just got my copy and the guide back from the person I loaned it to six months ago. Dumbass never even opened it. ![madashell :madashell:](./images/smilies/angry-smiley-054.gif)
