Water... they have the power to fly across interstellar distances but they're too stupid to burn hydrogen and oxygen. Great, we were invaded and subjugated by someone as stupid as the Kazon.

Well, it was the 80's - maybe they were yuppies and wanted Earth Spring Water or something.

*Points to outer solar system* There you can have that water.
What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

It was not that bad. No talks about humans as food just yet. The terrorism tie in wasn't that bad.

Re: V 2009
I rather enjoyed it. Enough references to teh old miniseries to appeal to nostalgia without it being blatant. I thought the direction was fine, the effects seamless, and the woman who plays Anna has legs like wow.

Re: V 2009
You can definitely see the influence of the old miniseries for sure which is a good thing to me. I agree with Anna's legs, in fact all the visitor chicks are quite yummy. I got smacked for making a comment about one way I could test Lisa for being a reptile. I like their manipulation of the reporter but I think it came on a little strong for the first episode. With 13 episodes to go I think they could have let the Visitors seem benign and beneficial for at least a whole episode. Maybe even painted the resistance as kooks for an episode or two before being proven right. In other words its supposed to be a 13 part series and it already feels like its at the end of act 1 after just an episode.

Re: V 2009
I definitely got that impression as well, as if they let the cat out of the bag a bit too early. I definitely wasn't expecting to see this early, but I wasn't that surprised by their treatment of the reporter. I didn't foresee them being played as the good guys for an entire ep. Hopefully, this means that there's so much good stuff that they had to move things along...
I also liked the role reversal of the Bates family from the old series.

Re: V 2009
About 10 minutes in, and I'm struggling not to compare it to the original.
First impressions:-
1. It seems to be paced a little too quickly. The original series had a much more gradual build up, which helped to give it an epic feel. This all seems a little too rushed.
2. The new spaceships seem a little too CGI - though I make that same criticism about a lot of newer productions - I guess I just prefer the look of models, even against a bad bluescreen.
3. The new shuttles are butt ugly.

Was this on yesterday, or something?
I can't find it on Hulu yet.

I too felt the reveal was too early. I liked the first episode. It felt kind of short though. Like everything is happening so quickly. There should be more build-up.
Loved the scene of how Erica is talking of building a resistance while we watch her son joining the V.
Didn't know Joel Gretsch was going to be in this. He's Science Fiction's go-to guy. I don't think I've ever seen Morena Baccarin's legs before. Not on Firefly or SG1. I couldn't stop looking.
Looking forward to episode 2.
The opening scenes, I think I preferred the opening where Marc Singer was getting shot at in El Salvador only to be saved when this huge freaking spaceship shows up. New V's opening was good too.
