Whats weird is that I'm pretty sure the whole video was shown on the news here, it showed the cop walking up to the car, talking to her, her getting out, him backing up and drawing the taser, TASER!!!!!!
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

I'm not sure I care much about if people like what the cop did or not. Police enforce the law. A strict form of rules. They are trained to protect the public at large, even if that costs them their lives. However they aren't looking to die. When enforcing rules against an unwilling subject, the reaction of force is applied. Said force is applied in the same manner at all times no matter the person subject to applied force.

I totally understand the principle there, but somehow, I don't think Stephen Hawking could ever be construed as a reasonable threat, no matter how belligerent he became.

However he's intelligent enough that when someone points a taser at him he'd probably stop whatever stupid shit he'd been doing.

That's just an example. Any person with advanced Lou Gehrig's is less of a threat than a two-year old kid.

You could just wheel them into a paddy wagon; there'd never be any justifiable reason to use a tazer on them.

I agree with Teaos' comment that this old lady could've had a gun, though. Even a 100-year old with a .45 can kill the biggest, toughest man.

And it's Texas. Not exactly a handgun free state.

Well, now that's damned interesting. Why would they release an incomplete video?
She also looks like she has her hands on the hood of her car when tasered :P Maybe she did look threatening but without a complete video I'm even more likely to side with the old lady.

I don't know about tasing ol' granny. She probably deserved it, but then again I don't think I could bring myself up to the task. Seems like he could easily cuffed and stuffed her in the car for a nice trip downtown.

I know I wouldn't need any tazer to handle that situation.

Look at the part where he shoves her; clearly, he could just grab and handcuff her. No nightstick or any sort of beating necessary.

I get it, though. He was following procedure...

Okay I found the missing seconds of film. He tries to handcuff her she pulls away and says she's getting back in her car then he tases her. So yeah maybe she would deserve it then.

Whats funny is we had a guy near where I used to live that tried to stab at a pair of Officers out with their rookies. A, he was shocked that he ended up in the hospital from the beating. B, he couldn't believe the harsh force that the police used on him. He tried to sue, he's still in prison that I know of...

The police are a one try deal. They'll normally be nice but you should treat them like a DI if you want that treatment. Everything you do is straight up, YES SIR or NO SIR. Fuck that up and your ass is grass.

Our Cops are downright nice compared to such civilized countries as oh say France or maybe Germany? Ya simply do not mess with those guys!
