There's an iphone app that you can tell to generate a fake call for just this situation. Before I had my iphone, I called someone specifically to avoid talking to a half-looney stranger, who was invading my personal space on the commuter train, telling me about how he'd been sober for 3 months, and he was going to get unemployment but the gov wouldn't give it to him, so he was going to go to court...

So, am I the only person who... has to wait for an empty restroom to drop the kids off at the pool?

I never use public restrooms.

Hmm, am I the only one who uses public restrooms?!

Well, if others are in that restroom, obviously others do. :P

I heard this once before: There's something infinitely comforting and at the same time disturbing about a warm toilet seat...

It's only comforting if you know who warmed it for you.

Ha ha ha :) I fastidiously only, erm, boldly go at home :) On the odd occasion I'm caught out, I'm totally with you, I'll pick the most secluded and uninterrupted place I can find and wait until 3am in the morning until everyone's in bed :) No seriously, a very private thing for me :)

However, some people are very blasé about it. Just the other day, I heard a mobile phone go in one of the cubicles and the guy answered the phone and said and I quote "Hello mate, sorry I'm on the sh*tter at the moment, can I call you back in a while?". A polar opposite....

That's from Douglas Adams' 'Meaning of Liff'. A modern classic:

SHOEBURYNESS (abs.n.)
The vague uncomfortable feeling you get when sitting on a seat which is
still warm from somebody else's bottom.

Meaning Of Liff

I refer to it as Dittle in my mind, but the forum in speech. Dittle just works as the proper word form of DITL. It's like the order of flats. BEADGCF (beed - soft g- sif)
