I need to go get a new Social Security card, and I'm good to go. I always vote.

Well I'm voting for sure. We have a bunch of crap to vote on at the state level here also. They want to build a friggin monorail transit system out here. It's a friggin' island for god sake. Then they want to have a constitution convention to ammend the state constitution, which the Hawaiin groups are fighting because they're afraid any constitutional ammendmants would go against them.

You need a monorail system. I was in Honolulu this winter and your city's public transportation sucks (that said your bus system is far and away better than any I've been on but it wasn't enough)

Well, the other mayorial candidate wants to build a second level to the freeway, like a double decker style.

I don't see the problem with that; you guys don't get a lot of earthquakes.

I personally like the double decker freeway plan. ESPECIALLY since the incumbant mayor who is pushing for rail transit just HAPPENS to have a brother in law bidding for the contract. He also has called this rail system his legacy. That makes me nervous.

A monorail? What's wrong with a normal train?

It might just be an impression I'm getting off certain forums (coupled with the reception he tends to get at his rallies) but I get the distinct impression that huge numbers of people seem to believe that can solve all the world's (or at least the US's problems) with a wave of his hand, a treatment he's doing nothing to discourage and everything to encourage. He was even cracking jokes about it at some charity bash last week. Is he better than the current incumbent? Sure - but you could say the same of a decapitated donkey. It doesn't make him omnisicent, nor someone whose defeat would bring about the end of civilisation
Well you can hardly blame the guy for what people say about him on forums. And you can hardly blame him for saying he has the answers, either. McCain isn't exactly bumbling around saying "shucks, elect me, I don't have a clue what I'll do!" Saying you have the answers is what politics is all about.

To loud, not fast enough, they have to raise it over the city because we don't have enough room on the ground. They are, I believe, stealing the idea from Japan.

I think we can safely call it: Obama wins DITL in a landslide. There are no words to express my shock. :P
