I understand about the "editing" of the Bible at Nicaea, and more importantly the deliberate misinterpretation of the Vulgate by St. Jerome, but these are two fo the four gospels - which purport to account Jesus' life - and they can't even agree on the place of his birth?!
I actually don't find that surprising in the least.

Me neither. As I said earlier:
That's what happens when you base a 1 billion strong religion on the work of semi-illiterate sheep herders.

There was also a finding in Egypt in 1945 of the complete Gospel of Thomas, which contained sayings attributed to the earlier traditions of Christianity. So the Bible was definitely a pick and choose creation, and as such can never be considered to be written by God. If the Bible is the word of God, but men can edit it, can the Bible still be considered the word of God? It can't be considered the truth of God, if you tossed out some parts and kept others.
I still want to know what happened to Jesus in those missing 18 years!

he went on a rampage, raping women, having consensual sex with men, animals and plants, drunk himself near to death and did everything in his power to defile the bible.
No offense christians.

I rather suspect he was giving Mary Magdelane a good screwing. That's if the man ever existed at all, it's not like Jesus is or was an unusual name.

And it's not like messiahs were in short supply back then either.

Nope, cults like this were apperently a dime a dozen in the period.

"I'm not the Messiah!"
"I say you are lord and I should know, I've followed a few."

The Life of Brian is great for making fun of stuff like that.
"I told you, I'm not the messiah!"
"Only the true messiah denies his divinity."
"Well what sort of chance does that give me? Alright then, I am the messiah!"
"He is the messiah!"
"Now, f*ck off!"
"........how shall we f*ck off, oh Lord?"
