I think an ENT movie would be good. If done right it might even make the cranky old men who think it trampled all over canon (which it didn't do more then any other series) like it.

If the series had been done right it could have been great. The problem wasn't entirely one of ignoring canon (although that was part of) - the core of the problem was that it simply continued the stream of boring shite that Voyager had been generating for years.
An Enterprise film (or Romulan War trilogy) might be interesting, but it would have to be very carefully done to avoid the pitfalls of the series. Hinting that the reset button at the end of "Strom Front" wiped a good deal of S1-3 junk from history would be a good thing.

I find it amusing that while so many people push for the Federation and Starfleet to be smarter about things, yet they object to something smart like Section 31.

The ONLY way an Ent movie would work out well would be if it were to be canceled before a Script was even approved. This new movie is a retarded idea. Trek needs to move forward, that is always how it has done its best work. I also think a new crew needs to be brought in, all of the current crews either have no reason or way to hook up again or carry along 20 years of baggage, best to bring in a new crew, get back to boldly going after the dominion war.

There is a difference in creating a ship that can defend itself and supporting genocide/other illegal activities. Section 31 goes against the very fabric of the Federation. They need a decent Intelligence agency but S31 doesn't cut it, especially since they seem to control everything in the Federation, thats not an Intelligence Agency thats a Shadow Junta.

I'd like to see you quote a single post where I've objected to Section 31. Given the proliferation of organisations like the Tal Shiar and the Obsidian Order, it would be difficult to imagine a Federation that didn't have a similar black ops organisation surviving long.

I don't think any of us have objected to the existance of S31. Some of us have pointed out that it goes against what the Federation stands for, but in general we all agree it's a good organisation to have handy.

They sure handled that pesky Founder problem well enough.

I thought this was an objection:

I assumed that was a typo since I don't know what else you'd be talking about.

He means "Season 1 to 3".

Rochey, Thorin: Exactly.
Chakat: how the hell do you think "S31" could be miswritten as "S1-3"? Transposing the numbers would be pretty easy, but the "-" sign is nowhere near either 1 or 3 on the keyboard.

I've seen weirder typos then that.

Such as getting the "a" and "e" keys muddled up?

Well, that's not weirder but ya, something like that.
