Methamphetamine was first synthesized from ephedrine in Japan in 1893 by chemist Nagayoshi Nagai.[3] In 1919, crystallized methamphetamine was synthesized by Akira Ogata via reduction of ephedrine using red phosphorus and iodine. The related compound amphetamine was first synthesized in Germany in 1887 by Lazăr Edeleanu.

Ah. Thus, my confusion. Bad business, either way. If my life were at stake, I'd gladly take some, though.

well in fairness, animation is MASSIVE all over the world, its part of japanese culture, and in a way, they're taking hold of that and saying "this is ours and we're damn proud of it"
its a bit cheesy, but i can't say I blame them, atleast, as an anime fan I'd say that animation in the western world is MASSIVELY popular. Not mainstream, sure, but damn close, with a huge following...

At least they do pretty damned well with anime and realize it doesn't have to be for children exclusively, either. Same with live-action.
I don't know who Dagger is, Swarky, but yeah.

I'll give you that, I don't get the NA attitude of cartoon=kids program. I'm a fan of the old pin-up style cartoons (the kind of thing you found on WWII aircraft).

I never got it, either. Sesame Street and NCIS are live-action, but the former for kids and the latter for adults. Never did get why cartoons got shoehorned into kiddie stuff.

You know things are bad when President George the Second looks normal by comparison.
Eh, I'd be thankful if this was the biggest thing I had to get outraged at my government about.
