Well, I didn't think you'd try to turn the Daystrom into a commie ship.
I'm not turning it into a communist ship (which wouldn't be that hard, given that the Feds already are communist), I'm merely turning it into a competantly run and operated ship.
No, it was whoever said that the enemy captain was a Caitian with a scar over one eye and was out for vengence because his family died. Then that person suggested that it would be a cool character development plot, I shrugged and went along with it against my better judgement.
*shrug*
If you didn't like it, or didn't want it to be a part of your character, you should have said so. Your lack of objection implies consent.
I suggest you fix your record player because I'm getting tired of hearing this tune.
Its the only way your going to get anywhere near the fighters.
Just because it's the losing side doesn't mean it's the wrong side.
Here's a hint:
There's a
reason it's losing. Try and see if you can figure out what that reason is.
No I want the fraking fighters you moron. You can keep your ship defenses.
How many times do we have to point out to you that fighters are
part of the ship's defences, and therefore Tactical?
No it's not. Would you like it if I suggest you replace your character? No. So what the frak makes you think I would like it when you suggest it?
It's not our fault your character can't fit into any position on the ship. You asked for solutions: and that's the best sollution there is if you're so hell-bent on getting into a fighter.

It's wise to jump ship before it sinks.
The ship seems badly in need of a ship counselor
Is that a suggestion? I doubt Rochey would go for that

EDIT: I do like the idea though.

well....i dont think it will sink. All this talk is going on OUTSIDE the actual story, therefore the barriers between both environments is still in place.

Suggestion: take some of Thorin's NPC fighter pilots, maybe not the main named ones but some of the lesser known/generic ones, and kill them off or reassign them. Necessitating new pilots and possibly a reorganization of the fighter wing.
Not hard, but would require you two to be flexible. The NPC's aren't nearly so important as giving a playing character a fun role to play.
At any rate it seems moot... unless Blackstar leaves and comes back a lot (I wouldn't have a clue) seems the problem is solved for your ship by hir leaving.
And yeah this whole warship fantasy thing doesn't sound fun. The ship needs a counselor, it sounds like a bunch of McCain's running around screaming at each other and turning vein-poppingly red faced.

Maybe you can apply.

Having a stronger argument, better supported by fact does not mean said argument is the truth, or 'correct', especially on matters of opinion.

Absolutely right. The stronger argument is not evidence of correctness or truth. If that were the case you could simply look at all the factors in any given decision-- a war, a battle, a policy, anything, and pick which side has the stronger argument. In effect you could predict the future. Having more people on your side, or assembling a more rhetorically correct argument, is just that. You can still have all that and be quite wrong.

That sounds like an idea. Of coarse Thorin has to agree to let his NPC's 'dissappear' so to speak and we might work it out.

Dusk gets the hero of the day award! (if thorin agrees)
Your homo-erotic barrier is getting a boost!! *rawr!*

You're making my no-no place respond against my will. Stop that, stop it I say!

Yeah I was picturing a crisis. Like aw crap, three of our fighter pilots just got killed. You have flight experience? Strap in.
Could work that in later to Blackstar commanding a subsquadron of newer pilot replacements, or something to that effect.

*looks at both of them* is there something you two haven't told the rest of us or did I miss something?

I have said all along you can join tactical either as yourself or as a new character. Which ever way you join tactical, though, you would be reporting to my character, regardless of your rank. That is what you have the problem with. You have however left me with little incentive for you to take over my NPC characters - after your various comments. You've threatened to hack me, send me a virus, called me a snotty nosed brat, a moron...
In opinion arguments there is no winning or losing side. This is not an opinion argument, and the side that wins the argument (when it isn't opinion) based on fact is the correct side.
Fighters are tactical
I am the head of tactical
That is not changing
Those are the facts, and Blackstar's argument (which is coincidentally losing) is that he should be the head of tactical or the head of the fighters without joining tactical, and shouldn't have to report to the chief tactical officer. Not happening.

You want the job?

The problem is not getting Blackstar in as a pilot. We've proposed numerous ways shi can do that. The problem is that shi insists on keeping hir rank, which would cause problems given that Thorin's just a lieutenant, and shi doesn't want to be answerable to him.

I'm sorry if I get attached to my characters. I'm sorry I actually care about them. I take time and care in developing each and everyone of my characters, with detailed backstories
I'm still catching up, just finished page 139 but I did propose a solution to get M'Real her job and keep it awhile back when Rochey first started to dodge her. You'd have to do a search for it but I thought it was a good idea. Of course you took it negatively but it involved some kind of long term Tholian Assembly intelligence gathering. Might be worth digging up the solution.
I just don't see why you don't want to take orders from anyone. Its only a game. You can't go throughout life without taking orders and generally anything people order others in this RP will be talked about either here or in a PM first. So what's the big deal? Ops, tactical, and security have all offered you positions. If you did security you'd have to take a demotion but that could cause some fun RP between the Breen and the Caitalin. I just don't see why you're so insultingly negative towards the whole thing.
