Just support? Ashok once took on three 'Nid zoanthropes, including one he killed with his bare hands.

Re: Crossover OOC Discussion
I was comparing Monroe's statement about Huron-Fel.
Fact is that Huron, the Astartes and the Transformers could each mount a single man assault against this base.
Though that really isn't a bad idea come to think of it. Huron-Fel could attack from one direction. The Astartes from another. And, the Transformers from yet another. Then anyone else could support the Infiltration team if the fighting makes it to them.

Re: Crossover OOC Discussion
I understand that much. However, where that is important for space combat, its most useless in this case.
We've seen the Jaffa Ground Forces matched against modern ground forces. A staff weapon hits about as hard as a 45cal pistol round that burns. Jaffa Cannon are similar to their staff weapons but hit more like grenades that burn.
Huron-Fel = Tank / Jaffa have no anti-tank.
Transformers and Astartes have similar armor to a modern APCs.
Jaffa have no anti-APC.
The only thing they have that can bust us on the ground is their bomber/transport craft.

Re: Crossover OOC Discussion
Gould bases often measure their strength in battalion to regiment numbers. Huron-Fel doesn't have that much ammo.
16 missles, 100 gallons of flamer fuel, 50 lascannon rounds (though this normaly feeds off the power core), 10,000 rounds of heavy bolter.
Fact is that instead of having large attack teams. We should spread out in smaller attack teams. Hitting from a dozen directions instead just two or three.

Re: Crossover OOC Discussion
I have to say, I'm pleased with how smoothly this is going. ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
Also, how big is our infiltration team, again? Too many people increases our chances of getting caught. I suppose Jack could stay on the ship to lower the numbers (Iceman is a great addition in case things go FUBAR
). Roland is the third best infiltrator we have, next to Dothude, and Arawden at least, so he'll still go.
How much travel time are we expecting here? I wouldn't mind doing some "what the hell is that?" posts from Roland and Jack's perspectives.

Wasn't planning long but maybe a day or two's worth of posts. I've been working on formulating the next phase. Doing some research cause I don't know a lot about this next universe as I'd like. RP's going great. Already surpassed the old Star Wars one and is closing in on the ENT one.Tsukiyumi wrote: How much travel time are we expecting here? I can empathize with that. Since I've moved, though, I feel a great deal less stress, and I'm actually sleeping a good eight most nights.Cpl Kendall wrote:Well when you only sleep four hours a night, you go when your tired.Deepcrush wrote:Early night kendall?
I'll PM you a follow-up question.
Cool; I just want to get one in where Roland replicates some ammo and supplies. i guess now that we have control of the ship, it should be easy.Monroe wrote:Wasn't planning long but maybe a day or two's worth of posts. BTW, I (and my characters) also vote for Primal as the leader.

Re: Crossover OOC Discussion
Speaking of ammo, we're going to need to either manufacture or replicate a tonne for Huron-Fel and the SM's plus lascannon charge packs. As well as flamer fuel (lets make it easy and say that Dietrich's and Fel's use the same kind).

Re: Crossover OOC Discussion
Okay, we should really get the composition of the teams worked out.
For the infiltration team, I'm thinking we shouldn't have more than six people. Too many will make them too easy to detect.
My nominations for Team 2 are:
Arawden (as an Eldar Ranger, he's got maybe as many as centuries of experience in stealth and recon)
Dothude (again, well experienced in stealth and keeping quiet)
Roland (expert gunman, which could come in handy if things do get messy)
Bauer (good in a firefight, quick thinking, experienced in stealth an recon missions)
Iceman (his powers could come in very handy if the team gets spotted)
Dietrich (it would be good to have a medic along, and the flamethrower will probably come in handy in the base's coridors)
For the assault group, we need to make a decision. Are we going to go with Deep's suggestion of splitting into two groups; one assaults the main entrance, the other assaults the opposite entrance? If so, this will force the enemy to split their forces between two attacks, lessening the chanes of one group getting surrounded.
However, splitting up also results in each team being even more outnumbered, and with little support should things go downhill. If we were to stick together, perhaps spread out in a large line, we could support each other while still laying down massive amounts of fire, creating the impression that a large force is attacking.
Should we go with the idea of splitting up, here's my suggestions for the two teams:
Team 3 (assaulting the main entrance):
Huron-Fel (a walking tank, what better to attract attention?)
Phebes
Ashok
Those three should be more than enough to draw a large group of enemy forces towards them, while still keeping alive.
Team 4 (assaulting the rear entrance):
Xan
Optimus Primal
Rhinox
Kozuki
Again, they should be able to pose a major threat, making it seem as though the attack is a two-pronged assault on the base by a large force, while still being strong enough to look out for themselves.
Anyone not mentioned, I'm unsure of just where they should go.
Team 1, up on the ship conducting negotiations, would be Cain and his aide. As a political officer, he's got plenty of experience in dealing with stuff like this, and can be quite convincing (though in this case, I doubt he'll get anywhere). So he'd be the logical choice for this.
Also, it's exactly the sort of role he'd choose for himself.![Wink ](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Re: Crossover OOC Discussion
I suggest we take the two teams and use them as squads and assault either the main entrance or the servants entrance, splitting the forces in two increases the chance of being surrounded and also increases the chance of fratricide when we meet up. We should just choose whichever entrance is closest to the objective, the Jaffa aren't exactly a massive threat so I don't see much point in over complicating this.
Edit: Bonus points if we use a shuttle as a drop ship and crash right through the door.

Re: Crossover OOC Discussion
I agree with splitting up the assault team, though we probaby want our best-defended people, and people best in HTH combat, closest to where the Kull would deploy. We also probably want the "front-door" squad to be on-target slightly sooner than the "back-door" squad, in order to draw attention.

Re: Crossover OOC Discussion
BTW - suitable welcome for Deep's second char posted.
For those not familiar: genestealers
*EDIT* Also BTW - are we taking any redshirts a/o expendable people on this mission, or even someone that could be injured if not killed? That could provide some good RP opportunities to illuminate Ashok's character.
