What's the latest in people's lives?
Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
I've jus turned 35 this week. However I must say this thread is making me feel young and fortunate. Good luck and condolences CPH, Mikey, and Angharrad!

Going to the Belmont Stakes tomorrow.

Ate a salad last night for dinner. Pretty basic. Bagged lettuce and tomatoes and olives. Woke up at midnight with practically nonstop puking, dry heaving and other stuff.
This is what I get for eating healthy.

You shouldn't eat it if the lettuce is anything other than green.McAvoy wrote:Ate a salad last night for dinner. Pretty basic. Bagged lettuce and tomatoes and olives. Woke up at midnight with practically nonstop puking, dry heaving and other stuff.

It was green. Olives didn't taste funny and the tomatoes were good.
I suspect there was a bug on the tomatoes that I didn't wash off.

Given my father's tendency to overcook food a bit, it's a wonder he doesn't actually cook his salads.IanKennedy wrote:You likely didn't cook it for long enoughHope your feeling better.

As we speak there's probably some industrious team of Scottish food technicians who are trying to work out a viable way to make deep fried salad.

I haven't seen one in person but it was featured on some Discovery network show or another: they mix the Coke and some kind of batter and drop it in the oil for a bit.
