So, going to Bangkok but not going to Phuket?
(Yes, it's juvenile, but I couldn't help myself.)
Anyway, have a great time! I wish I could taste that trip vicariously through you... I love southeast Asian food.

Have a great time, Ian. Stay safe, dude!
I think the last week or so has more than made up for the very light winter.

And goodbye, January. Hopefully the amount of shit that's happened this month means that the rest of the year goes somewhat easier.

Managed to get a puncture on the side wall of the INSIDE of my front left tyre. That makes 3 front left tyres punctured in year of ownership (as of yesterday in fact). @ £100 a time + this becoming an expensive run of bad luck.

You should start buying right-side tires and then reversing them.

Speaking of cars. My airbag sensor went bad so the thing constantly blinking on dashboard.
I think that may cause my car to fail the state inspection. But I got until April.

Hmmm. Unless you're just re-patching a single "tyre" over and over again, that sounds like it might be more than bad luck. Maybe think about where you're driving. A lot of...tyres...really don't hold up well to pot holes or even things you'd think they should be able to deal with like rolling up onto a curb. Some roads also have junk that could cause damage along their sides.

Off to another contract tomorrow.
Ushaia, Chilian Fiords, Elephant island, Falkland islands, Buenos Aires. Flying Via Santiago. Glad to finally tick off Antarctica, not so interesting in Falkland islands, but the history and current political situations makes it more interesting.

Are they letting you in? I thought I'd heard something a while ago that the Argies weren't admitting any ships that had FI on the itinerary.

Pot holes are an issue all over my area so somewhat unavoidable. I am very careful with curbs etc but I do have to regularly perform a 3 point turn into an alley way so I suppose it is feasible there's debris of some form in the run in.

Well, we've finished the cruise. We're now staying here:
The cruise was interesting. Viet nam is mad as hell. I wouldn't want to drive there. At one point we where on a motorway and was passed by a 2 ton truck going in the wrong way down the road. Yes, that was two lanes out and two lanes back and the truck in the outside lane on the wrong side of the road. Passing speed difference of about 120mph, one full size coach and one truck!

Nice hotel, Ian. Crazy driving, too.
God, this winter was so... not-winter two weeks ago.

Man, the past two nights were the first I didn't have to wake up to shovel at midnight. And Saturday night, we get another blizzard.
The snow-thrower my mother bought broke, BTW. Turns out instead of a couple years old like I thought it was, it was ten-eleven.
