A blind man in charge, such a silly idea

Could his eyes have been artificial upgrades, like our good Chief Engineer?

If it wasn't for the eyes, I could put the differences down to mere improvements in special effects, though I take Rocheys point about us rationalising the changes we see.

I don't suppose the time between ENT and TOS is enough to account for evolutionary changes? If not, I'd suggest the subspecies explanation. Perhaps one subspecies of the Gorn split off from the other race, like the Vulcans and the Romulans.[/img]

It's a possibility. However, they don't look very artificial.

Don't think so. There was only a bit over a century between them, IIRC. There's virtualy no way a completely different eye structure could evolve in that short space of time.
