Possibly but we need more pictures, though I agree in general form it appears similar to the Prometheus, though that could be a trick of the size.

I was thinking that they were to the top and bottom off to the side with two others on the other side.
From a front view the nacelles would make an x off the body of the ship.
Ah, I see.

Which would make it even more like a Prommie.

yes, but the promi had a box like format so from the front it looked kind of like :-:, he said earlier that it was based off the promi anyway so that's probably why.

So is this in a cross arrangement?

that's what i'm thinking, he based the ship off the promie, which looks like :-: from the front so i'm thinking that it lookes something like x or >-< from the front.

ya, that was another opinion, but to me it looks like the two nacells you can see are coming toward us, indicating that there would be another pair coming off at 45 degrees on the other side as well.

Aye, probably an X shape.

So would that make it a Prometheus without separation?
actually, I can understand that. The Prommie was a powerful ship on its own, and taking the MVAM would make it both simpler as well as cheaper to make without sacrificing much firepower.

Aye, possibly.

The Plato Class was designed as the product of traditional vessils merged with the Promethius. This explorere is designed to be the best scout explorer to date, and was put into production c. 2417. The Ship can seperate into four distinct vessils to explore and chart anomolous regions such as nebulae or asteroid fields, then recombine with relitive ease. The ship can also use the ability for tactical purposes but this move isn't highly recomended as the seperated ships are much weaker on a whole than the ship when fully assembelled.
* for new tech not explained here see previous ship design posts.
**Ship seperation see second diagram

No offense, but that Plato class looks pretty ugly.

And horrendously complex by the looks of it.
