From getting my first car, to college, to fatherhood I've never been one to limit myself to a single Halloween party/activity.Mikey wrote:sunnyside wrote:Oct 28
It's based on trick or treating, and is usually done by some group where the members aren't just next door to each other, like a school, church, or rural area.Mikey wrote:sunnyside wrote:Trunk or treating![]()
That's actually a great idea for areas where geography or zoning don't allow for a relatively compact neighborhood area for kids to go door-to-door.sunnyside wrote:It's based on trick or treating, and is usually done by some group where the members aren't just next door to each other, like a school, church, or rural area.
Everyone drives into a large parking lot which is then cordoned off and pop the backs of their cars, SUVs, and vans. The vehicles are decorated inside with the space in an SUV allowing for quite a lot, the entire vehicle might be decorated or stuff might be set up around it, and the adults might be in costume or might be playing music.
The kids, in costume, then go trick or treating up and down the vehicles in the parking lot. If there is an associated building there might be some crafts, games, or in this case a pumpkin shaped bouncy castle for the kids, which also gives the adults some time to hang out with each other.
That's fine with me.RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:My family has a snow thrower. Expect temps in New England and possibly the whole US east coast to be in the 70's all winter long.
It'd be fine with me, too. *Waves stick at Old Man Winter*Sonic Glitch wrote:That's fine with me.RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:My family has a snow thrower. Expect temps in New England and possibly the whole US east coast to be in the 70's all winter long.
How does that work? Or is it that they trick or treat on a different night, and Halloween evening is when the parade takes place. It strikes me as odd to have an evening parade, but I guess if you bust out enough lights it could be fun.Mikey wrote: For the record, in my town we usually don't trick-or-treat on Halloween, as that's reserved for our town's Halloween parade which is generally the largest in the state.
