Need doesn't factor into it, how you believe the world is and how you believe it should be is at the core of who you are. As such it dictates your political views. And no, you should not have different or less rights because of it, you should have the same rights as everyone else.

That I understand. But even in the developed world there is still a huge amount of inequality, and quite often it is because of religious beliefs being used as a basis for legal systems, and being used to persecute minorities.

Yes, I understand that people's religious beliefs sway their political leanings, but they should not use their religious beliefs to say that some people have less rights, and yet that is still ongoing.

As long as people see difference as threatening rather than fascinating there will be inequity. This is one of the things that attracted me to Star Trek, viva la difference.

Had a nice long argument with some religious nut going door to door and car to car leaving pamphlets for people go to their 'give us money so we can live kings and you don't' church.

Maybe I was an asshole because I don't like it when people touch my car.

After a prolonged break, my big sci-fi short story is just flying together, in a good way. I think I might finish it in the next day or two, and then I just have to get it copyrighted, and it's off to Amazon. I cannot explain how awesome it feels to get the voice of this character back, and write all of this out finally.

With due respect, methinks you have the percentages reversed. As to why the rolls are high now, think back 5 years to September 2008. It's not like there've been any recessions lately, now have there?

There are, in fact, a lot of working people who just can't keep up with the crazy increases in food costs along with everything else. Listen to the Three Wise Guys podcast this next week for my take on this exact subject.
