Whats the new job?
What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

My mother is having her bathroom completely gutted and redone. So... she is going to be staying with me for a couple weeks.

It's called 'ship from store'. Basically we supplement walmart.com. If we have something someone ordered, we can ship it out to local addresses a lot cheaper and faster.Teaos wrote:Whats the new job?

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
Yesterday I swapped out my desktop's motherboard to fix some odd freezes and blue screens I'd determined must have been due to a faulty board after a good bit of troubleshooting. For the technically inclined, it's an Asrock H77 board replacing an ASUS P67 board, both full ATX. I gain a few extra features in the swap including PCIe 3.0 and the POST time is much faster; both boards had the same number of SATA (including 3.0) and USB (Including 3.0). Every other component was retained (including 2nd gen i5 CPU) and so far it's all working perfectly.

ahem...
I usually have pretty bad seasonal allergies in the spring and autumn; I've had a sore and scratchy throat today which has prompted me to start my Claritin (allergy meds) regimen.

Ah, that sucks, CPH. Hope it clears up somewhat. My right hand gets rather dry during the winter months. The skin cracks and bleeds unless I put some cream onto it.

From experience the claritin will significantly ameliorate the symptoms once it takes effect. It's one small pill a day, and it's available over the counter for not too great a price for generic versions.
I also keep an eye on my hands in winter - and apply lip balm since my lips get very chapped.

Ah, cool.
I have the next two days off. Last time that happened when it wasn't a week's vacation was about... 2007 or so.

Okay, heard 'Heart and Soul' by T'Pau on the radio while driving home from work. A MAJOR rush of nostalgia there.

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?
Landed a new job, had trouble finding a decent job here in germany so a old friend of mine offered me a rep job working on ship. I only do 1 or two cruises at a time so only away from home for a week or two rather than 12 months. I get a guest room with room service, cleaning, free access to ports and tours and much better pay.
