There are a few possible other motives. Boredom, for one - being as long-lived as the El Aurians can surely engender some ennui with life. Guinan (though this may not be typical of El Aurians) also seemed to have a particular matriarchal protectiveness for humanity.

Or a simple desire to see (yet more of) the universe. Plus a bartender's the ideal job for a "listener".

I fully agree here. If I wasn't Starfleet, I'd BEG to be serving bar in a Ten-Forward. You get to socialize, interact, and serve. With no money, its never a customer service nightmare the way current retail have to take. Meanwhile, you're with a ship exploring the galaxy that has one of the most powerful computers ever built. A motivated person could essentially learn infinite amounts of information while serving bar. Incredible job!

No money means no tips. On your feet all that time just for the right to serve sythetic drinks. I don't know about that.

Can we have a "Chief Stripping Officer" on the Paladin, Teaos?????

Please, please, please?

She could even be a department head, with other strippers under her.

Didn't mean that the way it sounded, but I like it enough that I ain't gonna change it.

I can't see Picard letting strippers on his ship, unfortunately.

Besides, they'd have to operate outside the Federation, what with the UFP's no-money deal and all.

"Come here, honey, and give me a lap-dance... for the betterment of mankind, you know." I don't think that would fly.
