I don't find it to be 'bad', but it's not exactly my cup of tea. There's some great stuff in it, but it really does drag. If it's on I'll watch it, and I own it on DVD... along with all the other movies, so nothing special there. ![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

I think as a standard TV episode it could be good, even in the top ten. But the loooooong scenes mixed with the unfortunate uniform choice makes it hard to actually enjoy it.
What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

It's basically a movie version of The Changeling. V'Ger = Nomad.Teaos wrote:I think as a standard TV episode it could be good, even in the top ten.

They did a TMP directors cut and it was actually longer and so much better paced. They basically ran out of time in the edit.

An alternate name was "Star Trek-The Motionless Picture"IanKennedy wrote:It was always a good film, but known for being too slow. In fact the nickname for it at the time as was "The Slow Motion Picture". That said the directors cut was almost the same length and felt so much more snappy. I think they just run out of editing time.
