It's a show about fantastical objects kept in a series of warehouses ("someplace safe") being catalogued and gathered by the US Governemt ("top men" -- sorry, the show always reminded me of that seen at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark). Was there a shark to jump in the first place? :poke:
Absolutely. The phrase doesn't refer to the implausibility of the plot, it refers to the point at which the quality of the show goes in the shitter.

It was stored with a motorcycle and a leather jacket. If you are not wearing your purple gloves you can't help but go for a ride...

It was rolling along so nicely - maybe not a great series in the annals of SF television, but certainly fun and creative in its use of historical and literary references - and then we started getting all of the crap about Artie's old nemesis. That could've been a nice short subplot, but instead it became repetitive and formulaic... then the crap with H. G. Wells, which again could've been an amusing diversion but became another overdone proverbial dead horse.

Well, if they had Jamie Murray show up nude every now and then, like they did in Dexter.... it wouldn't be so bad :happydevil:
