As long as we don't have another 96" in 96 hours... That was a pain to dig out from.

Most of our winters are just...drizzle. At least snow is dramatic.RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:No. It's called a 'nuisance'.Mikey wrote:Right... where you live, 4" of snow is called September, right?RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:Reliant, I'll buy you a snow-thrower for your next birthday, okay?
We tend to have much more ice than we do snow.

I'm so jaded from years of "It's headed right for the Jersey shore!" followed by a half-hour of rain.Deepcrush wrote:Just got back from the store. Got stocks for myself, mother and grandmother. Bring it on!

We've had that and also the " it's going to miss us" then followed by three days of wind and rain.

The quake woke me up from my afternoon nap. Since I am in the landing pattern of NAS Oceana, I thought one of the planes crashed near by. Well the only damage done is a shattered beer pint(empty). I demand $6 million for a replacement.
I am prepared like any hurricane. Extra beer.

I live by JFK and all I felt was a jolt, like a 2 second thing. I thought a truck crashed into the house or something in the basement blew up.

I've had both, too. Although in my neck of the woods it's "We'll be seeing close to a foot of snow!" And I look out the window and... we barely get a coating. Or "Maybe a light dusting will cover the yard, but the roads will remain clear," and it looks like Antarctica outside.

Technically he was right - it wasn't a hurricane on the way because it was the wrong shape.colmquinn wrote:Nothing happeing here or comng our way

We caught the tail end here in Irl but it seems Eng caught the best of what was left of it that year. There was many a venerable old tree that fell that night.

Re: Earthquake hits the US
Well, last I heard it'll be a tropical storm when it reaches around here. I've got flashlights, candles, food and water anyway just in case.
