I certainly bow to your greater knowledge of firearms - which you have proved in a picture - but isn't this blank adapter something YOU WOULD BE ABLE TO SEE?!

it is.... it would stick off the end of the barrel .5"-2"

EDIT:

Thats is one for an FN FAL, and it has a small hole it, but you can see, it would still be fairly visible, especially painted orange.

Sure - why would you bother to look check for something like that when you're holding a gun up against somebody's flesh?

It's pretty obvious that there wasn't a BFA on the weapon when it happened. Otherwise the injury wouldn't have ben as severe. A BFA blaocks virtually all the gas and podwer from escaping the muzzle, only a tiny amount gets out. I've been less that a metre away from a C-7 rifle muzzle when it was fired with a BFA on and was only lightly peppered with powder from the muzzle. I certainly don't recommend this but it shows that it's relatively safe.

Mikey: I was joking, but I did read a few years ago that crystals doped with a specific copper alloy exhibited some indicators of being a life form. They had a bioelectromagnetic field similar to plants. Whether this would classify them as a life form, I would think not, but the possiblity intrigued me.

I'm trying to find any additional reference to this phenomenon, but I'm coming up empty at the moment.

Lemme know if you find anything - I'd be interested in reading it.
