The game's afoot! To those of you who didn't receive PMs, your regular bog standard humans. Have at it! I'm fairly certain I got everyone into that first introductory post.

Re: Find the Skinjob Discussion
Ah yes, I forgot to include the character list!
Major Brandon "Sonic" Glitch -- Battlestar Poseidon CAG. Along to supervise the test of the top secret project
Lieutenant Mary "Royal" Foxx -- Second most senior pilot of Battlestar Poseidon after Maj. Glitch
Junior Lieutant Stefan "Rochey" Rochevsky -- Electronic Countermeasures Officer in charge of testing the new birds ECO package
Ensign Johnathan "Stitch" Stickler -- Intelligence Operative, testing the signals gathering and photography/video equipment of the new spy bird. New to the space fleet after serving a 2 year tour at Intelligence Headquarters
Ensign Mark -- "Rook" A medic, hoping to obtain enough flight hours to be authorized for attachment to a rescue or relief-Raptor crew, tagging along so he can experience a nice, easy "run around the block" if you will. New to the fleet and the service
Master Chief Petty Officer Nick Switz -- "The Chief" Crew chief of the flight, making sure all of the systems in charge of making the Raptor fly are operating correctly. Considering retirement in the future.
1st Class Petty Officer Staplic -- "WhizKid" Assigned to shadow The Chief and learn the innards of all of the birds operating off the Poseidon's flight deck. He is the deck gangs rising star and being shaped into the chiefs eventual replacement.
Specialist Lazar -- Software specialist, making sure all of the computers and software are operating to help the ECO and Intel guys work.
So what do you think? I tried to come up with a good mixing of ranks, and then excuses for them all to be on a test flight![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
And no, I didn't realize "my" characters name was Maj. Glitch until halfway through writing the intro post. I suppose it all works out![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)
I hope you enjoy the game as much as I enjoyed bringing it to you. 1st 'Night will be on Friday or Saturday, whenever intro gameplay slows down or I have the time.

SO... I haven't been in space long.
Is this during the war? Just so I know timeframe.

Re: Find the Skinjob Discussion
This is immediately after the Cylon attack on the Colonial Fleet, when they wipe everyone out. Mostly everyone in the fleet is gone, and the Galactica and her civilian fleet have started their quest, but of course you guys don't know any of this. You just know you watched your own Battlestar and Fighter Squadrons get wiped out easily and saw the same thing happening to other squadrons/battlestars off in the distance. You are stranded on a forest moon, moderately temperate, something a little like late fall/early spring in the northern U.S. Latitudes (and the perpetual state of Ireland/U.K.stitch626 wrote:SO... How big is the experimental craft we're on? From what you've indicated (mentions of cabins and such) it's far larger than an average Raptor.

Re: Find the Skinjob Discussion
Say, somewhere between the Raptor and the colonial shuttle we see only once. I suppose Raptor was a bad term for it, but I'll retcon it as "Raptor" was the codename for the test flight ... yes that's it.Sionnach Glic wrote:How big is the experimental craft we're on? There is only one cabin, the flight/operations deck and there's usually a crew of 4/5 so with the extra techs it's a little crowded.

One of the shuttles we see on Galactica every now and again is probably the right size.

Re: Find the Skinjob Discussion
I guess I didn't make myselff adequately clear, like a Federation shuttlecraft there is only one pressurized compartment -- the flight deck. Engines and other innards are accessed either from removable interior or exterior panels. There may be a jump drive "compartment" at mostLt.Staplic wrote:I was alone in the engine room running diagnostics on jump drive.

Re: Find the Skinjob Discussion
The ship we're in is basically a runabout-sized craft.
Though if we're retconning it up a few sizes I'd suggest something along the lines of a heavily modded military version of the Gemenon Traveller. It's not too big (only a few times the length of a Raptor) and the fact that we have deck plans for it could help our less nBSG savvy players.

Re: Find the Skinjob Discussion
I'm liking that. It's a decent size so we could all be around without actually spotting each other.
