well guys we're at 28 at the charts now, and I'm waiting. The RATM campaign has also raised over £60,000 for a charity called "Shelter" which helps provide for the homeless, which at christmas, is an especially nice touch. It's going to be a closeeeeeeee call, though I've got a feeling we might hit number 2 instead of number 1. I bought my copy :).

The whole thing started as a small inside joke, and went viral. Killing in the Name is a popular song, I hear it every time I go out to 5th Ave in Manchester, or places in Chester.

Ultimately, it's people who like "real" music crying out that their sick of hearing the same crap that people only like because it was on TV/the person who sung it was hot/they liked the original/everyone else likes it/etc, and want to hear something that people actually like because they like it.

Wait. Is that because of the anti-war sentiment or is that a place where they just happen to rock out to nu-metal from the 90s.

It pulled it off? Good. I loved in the initial interview how Simon Cowell was whining about it, saying they were just being mean to him or something like that. What's Simon care? It's not like people will stop watching the show or buying the generic albums the winners turn out. Really, aside from Carrie Underwood has a single American Idol singer managed to last long enough to put out a second CD?

Was Daughtry a winner? Or just runner up, he got a second album out, not that bad, not the best, but not bad.

Well offically its an "indie" club, but indie kids mostly like stuff because its trendy, and everyone else does. Proper metal places like Jilly's or MetalPig play it all the time too though.

So to answer your questions...it's places where they play nu-metal from the 90's :)

I am pleased that the bastard programme has finally had its dominion over the UK blasted to smithereens however...I feel somewhat sorry for Joe McElderry in all this. He's the one thats going to get slated for it, as he is the one that got victimized by it. Cowell don't give a shit, it hasnt exactly killed his profits THAT much. It was a pretty tight run. Joe's success maker, unfortunately, is also his doom.

Exaggeration much? Whatshisface will probably reach number one in the next week or so, and being narrowly beaten like this is hardly going to be more than a bump in the road for the show. If anything it shows how strong it is, given that it took a massive campaign aimed solely at pushing a single song ahead of it for one week to beat it. I'm not exactly pleased at the situation, but that's how it is.

I couldn't give a flying fart about the show. Don't watch it, quite happy to change the channel when it decides to grace our television with its presence. However, I personally feel McElderry will take a bigger hit for being "the X-factor kid". There was a rally around Gosport all about "we hate Joe McElderry". The only reason they did it was because hes the x-factor wonderboy.

He's right, Joe took the fall for it, but so what? The last thing we need is another cheesy, passionless, mass-produced, pop-kid who will be gone in a year or so. "Talented singers" like him are a dime a dozen in that industry :)

Is it his fault that he's the victim though?
