Norway only has a handful of tanks. And even then they have no effective way to put vehicles on the ground without some neighbor of the congo letting them use their facilities to stage an attack.

Without a neighbor willing to effectively declare war on the Congo Norway could only get in a small number of special forces into the region using helicopters launched from their three Frigates(one chopper each), maybe paratroopers out of a C-130, or via divers or small boat. All of those options seem like a good way to lose more than just two Norwegians.

Their best bet to inflict some pain would seem to be a Naval blockade of the Congo and maybe sink their little patrol ships or blow up some stuff near the coast. Though that might just get the prisoners killed, and might be condemned by the global community.

In that case, they should just get the UN involved. They'll certainly be able to sort this mess out easily enough.

Screw the UN. You want a solution to this problem...

Seriously, what were these guys thinking? While I don't think they'd win, if they do get executed they should probably at least be nominated for a Darwin Award.

Don't want to blame the victim, but yeah, you have to wonder why the hell they chose to go there.
