The new EEG tests show serious promise. And that's why I said "battery", as in ten of them or more. It would at least suggest how truthful the guy is being.Captain Picard's Hair wrote:Assuming they actually work...Tsukiyumi wrote:Sounds like a job for a battery of advanced lie detector tests.

When they found the guy's body, was his gun actualy loaded?

I wonder if anyone checked.
If the guy who was killed had PTSD he could have just grabbed the gun without loading or even caring and thought the other man was an enemy combatant, so, he may have pulled an empty pistol on the guy.

Call Special Agent Gibbs and his team. They'll figure it out.
Otherwise, they are screwed. How can they prove beyond a reasonable doubt this guy is guilty?

Re: CF Reservist Shot Tentmate In "Self Defense"
It can... IDK if it's PTSD or another stress related malady, but one of them makes you basically think your in a dangerous position even if you are home and safe. It's usually agitated by visual or audio cues, sometimes olfactory cues as well...Cpl Kendall wrote:Uh, PTSD doesn't work like that dude.Nickswitz wrote:I wonder if anyone checked.

Re: CF Reservist Shot Tentmate In "Self Defense"
Yes PTSD does that (I happen to have it BTW) but it rarely, rarely ever manifests itself until your safely home. And it does not make your buddy who is likely not wearing a man dress appear as an enemy combatant, and given that it's not mentioned that either of them had it plus their young age and lack of previous tours...well that leads me to believe that's not what's going on here.Nickswitz wrote: It can... Yes, I realize that it wasn't mentioned, however isn't it only able to be seen through a psych exam, if so, then you really can't tell if the dead guy had it.

Re: CF Reservist Shot Tentmate In "Self Defense"
A very extensive series of exams yes, let me ask you something; what makes you think the guy might have had it? Nothing in the article suggests it, nobody mentions odd behaviour or anything else that might hint at it. Frankly it's far more likely that the two are just idiots.Nickswitz wrote:Yes, I realize that it wasn't mentioned, however isn't it only able to be seen through a psych exam, if so, then you really can't tell if the dead guy had it.
Re: CF Reservist Shot Tentmate In "Self Defense"
I agree with that, however, I am thinking it based on an article I read a few years back about PTSD causing a lot of friendly fire after the battles, and this reminded me of it. That said, I don't have that article available.Cpl Kendall wrote:Frankly it's far more likely that the two are just idiots.
