Ah personal responsibility, where have you gone? Will I ever see you again?

Screw personal responsibility, I want our common sense back first. What we really need right now is something lethal to get loose, but that you can avoid effortlessly as long as you just pay attention. Like a fast growing man eating weed. As long as you don't walk into it, you're fine.

Or, apparently, manholes.

Honestly, I can't even count the number of times between the ages of, say, 1 and 3 that I've told my daughter that an important rule of walking is WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING. This is the same type of person who requires the instructions on a box of toothpicks.

"One of her sneakers is still down there." Probably with Velcro closures, 'cause I doubt the dumb bitch can tie a shoelace. If you're going to decide to walk into a sewer - and she did make that decision, commensurately with the decision to walk around without paying attention to her surroundings - then you're going to find yourself in shit.

Something important here is she wasn't hurt, so for what is she going to sue the DEP or whoever you want?

No harm no fault. Would be different if she had broke her spine or someting like that.
Trata las situaciones estresantes como lo haría 1 perro: si no puedes comértelo o jugar con ello, méate encima y lárgate!!!

Handle stressful situations as a dog would: if you can't eat it or play with it, pee on it and get out of there!!!

Agreed. I'd guess she's going to sue for "emotional trauma".
