Way way to expensive. MGs are the best way to go. Maybe even a Vulcan or 3in cannon from a Coast Guard Destroyer.

Yeah, you're probably right. I guess I just got excited about the big boom.

Big BOOM wasted when the MGs mean you get to watch a bunch of people slowly burn and drown and maybe even die by sharks.

I didn't say that the sharks had to join the Corps.

besides - if the Chinese can use dolphins, we can use sharks.

Now if the sharks joined the Corps then it would be ok.

MGs are too light to be certain of sinking one of the bigger ships, 3 in I think would be too heavy and complicated for a Q-ship. A Vulcan would do well, but its rate of fire might be a problem - you'd have to carry a huge amount of ammo. Best bet, I think, would be a few 40mm Bofors.

Do those pirates have any ships that won't sink if they get chewed up by a couple of 50cal? Besides, how good are the 40mm up close?
