Hannable lecter.
What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

The Master from Dr Who, the older incarnations were the best but John Simm wasn't bad.

Roger Delgado was, and will always be, the best Master, but Derek Jacobi comes a pretty close second. Simm was good at points, but on the whole came across as too OTT.

Re: Favorite Villains
Awesome choices. A couple of my favorites is Commander Kruge from ST III and Chang from ST VI. The original Star Trek films had the best villains and the Next Generation films just could not compete in that regard. And Khan, of course. ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
I would have also said Darth Vader, but after that terrible "Nnnnnoooooo!" segment at the end of Ep. III he has pretty much been ruined for me for all time.

Re: Favorite Villains
Khan Singh-Best villain in Trek, bar none.
Grand Admiral Thrawn-A James Bond-esque bad guy in SW and he made it look good. 8)
G1 Megatron-The first, one of the best.
Beast Wars Megatron-He shot g1 Optimus Prime in the face. That's badass on a whole other level.
Sauron-nuff' said.![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
Darth Vader-TOS version, not emo boy from the prequels. "Apology accepted, Captain Needa."

Re: Favorite Villains
One cheesy vilain I enjoyed (in addition to several others already listed) was the villain from the first Power Rangers movie (Ivan Ooze). He had good lines:
"Ooh, a teenager with a big mouth...not much has changed in six thousand years."
"Oh the things I have missed, the Black Plague, the Spanish inquisition, the Brady Bunch reunion, Ha ha ha ha"
"Taking over the world is one thing. Finding good help to run it is another."
(Power ranger): "We're the Power Rangers!"
Ivan Ooze: "Whoo! Where's my autograph book?"
[after Entering the Command Center] "Hey, pretty fancy Spansy, I guess if You invest Your Money well in 60 Centuries... You can manage to buy yourself something Nice." (I thought I remembered it as "six thousand years of compound interest" or similar)
[Goldar grabs Ivan's shouder] "Touch me again, you'll be chicken wings in the morning."

Agreed about Delgado - disagreed about anyone being close.Captain Seafort wrote:Roger Delgado was, and will always be, the best Master, but Derek Jacobi comes a pretty close second. Simm was good at points, but on the whole came across as too OTT.

I wonder will the one to send the doctor to his next regeneration be the master (I feel he must come back) or will it be a totally random bad guy of the week just to show he's not superhuman after all?Mikey wrote: Agreed about Delgado - disagreed about anyone being close.

The Doctor's regenerations tend to come at the hands of random bad guys of the week:colmquinn wrote:I wonder will the one to send the doctor to his next regeneration be the master (I feel he must come back) or will it be a totally random bad guy of the week just to show he's not superhuman after all?
1 - Cybermen (on their first appearance, so they were effectively random aliens at that point)
2 - Time Lords, (again, first appearance, but they'd been talked about since the first serial, so count this one as "major")
3 - Those fucking spiders.
![Mad :x](./images/smilies/icon_mad.gif)
4 - The Master (definitely major)
5 - Caught some random disease of the week
6 - Bumped his head on Mel's exercise bike, or was in a battle with a random alien-of-the-book
7 - Killed by a doctor who was confused by Time Lord anatomy
8 - ???
9 - The idiot chav (albeit with tangential Dalek involvement)
10 - Shot by a Dalek (definitely major)
So out of ten regenerations, five of them were due to randomness, three were to known enemies, one is unknown, and one was due to saving a companion, after said companion had wiped out a bunch of Daleks.
Only two things are infinite - the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the universe: Albert Einstein.
