There have been sites seemingly advertising a patch for cornficker that actually download other virus' onto your machine but as long as you have legit software the major companies should have you covered and you won't need to do anything.

Okay, according to today's newspaper, the whole thing was a giant prank. Nothing actualy happened.

Technicaly, pranks don't have to be funny from the point of view of the victim. That would be a joke.
