I wonder what they would have done before they had caller ID tech, though? There has to be some way to authenticate the caller , especially when one of the parties is the C-in-C (or future CnC).

We've got the Time Warner triple play here (don't know how much it costs) - and yes, we get caller ID.

Probably something along those lines is what I was thinking.
It's occurred to me that caller ID can surely be fooled. Someone could make a call which would show up as Barack Obama or whatnot (of course, you'd have to go a lot further than that to convince the other person that you really are the President once you start speaking - especially in these days of mass media). I wouldn't want to be this person once the Secret Service finds him...

It's ok, I would need your phone to do it. However I also know a good deal of people that can get the information just by hacking
