If I could afford it, I'd get a Porsche. But I could never afford it... at least not in this lifetime. Which is ok with me, money isn't everything in life.

In my more vindictive moments, I think it'd be fitting to castrate sexual offenders. Come to think of it, bad wife beaters deserve it, too!

You know, I've learned that doesn't really help change a wife beater. In my younger days, my friends and I knew this girl from the time we were kids, and her other half would really beat the hell out of her. So one day, after we'd been drinking, we ran into her looking like a racoon with two black eyes and a split lip. We went ballistic, drove to his friends place, dragged him outside, and the four of us beat him. Very badly. Like broken bones badly. He wanted to press charges against us, but I had another friend on Las Vegas Metro Police Dept, who told him if he wanted to press charges against us, then if, during the investigation, it came to light he had beaten her, he'd ALSO go to jail for domestic violence. He quickly changed his mind. She NEVER forgave us for what we did to him and wouldn't speak to us ever again after that, and after he healed up, her beatings got worse. I'm assuming mostly due to his humiliation.

Some people are just dumb. Fact of life, I'm afraid.

So sad, but true.

Yeah, that is more accurate. The concepts of honor, morality, and self-reliance seem to have eroded from society at large.

Don't forget self-discipline and responsibility.

It really is a bit of a mess; I'm not sure those things can be recovered. Parents have a hell of a job nowadays if they want their kids to grow up as decent people.
