I hate the UK national anthem. For one, the tune is dreary and plodding. For another, the lyrics ask an imaginary being to save a parasite. I do not find this compelling.

The tune can be something of a dirge if played badly (which it's easy to do), but played well it's pretty good.

As for "parasite", I'd like to see one example of a parasite that does as much work as the Queen - hundreds of buildings to be opened and visits to make very year, on top of signing every buill to go through parliament, reading the contents over every minister's red box, every single day, and playing a key role in maintaining diplomatic relations in a way that various PMs, because they're only temporary heads of government rather than perminant head of state, can't.

The Queen sounds a lot like the president our country when you put it that way.

You can have mine - you couldn't do any worse than the current leadership if you tried.

Isnt the average cost per person for the Queen something like 1 pound?

I wouldn't let her go for less than about $3.99/lb.
