No, I can't fault the consumers for taking advantage of something the industry was willing to offer. Leasing allowed someone to get a car which they couldn't afford at a payment which they could afford. The problem on the consumer's end is you pay for 2,3, or 4 years, and then turn it in and have no equity to show for the money you put in.

Yup. I dunno, I always had a problem with buying something I wouldn't eventually own (the afore mentioned buyout).

I just remembered, the US bailed out Chrysler a while back, so they have no good reason to not bail out Ford and GM.

Why? "They should do x because they've done it before" is not logical - it presuposes that "x" is a good idea.

Um... this is the US government we're talking about. Logic just confusses them.

I'm well aware of that. Doesn't change the fact that having done something before is not a reason for doing it again.

Oh, sorry.

See this is one of my problems, sarcasm is really hard for me to do in text. With my previous comment, I meant that some in the government would see it that way. I wasn't suggesting that I feel that way.
Maybe from now on, I'll forget about trying to use sarcasm. :x

Yeh, sarcasm isn't the sort of thing that comes over well in text, unfortunately. You need to exaggerate a lot, and to add the rolling eyes smilie to make it clear.

Ok, thanks. Maybe I'll try that, if I ever use sarcasm again.

I say screw Ford. Sure I like their trucks, even had a few. But at some point they should have thought about spreading out their assets a bit. They didn't watch the market and now are going ape-shit for it. Again, fuck'em and move on. Not like we don't still have Chevy which is still doing well.

I have a 1994 Ford Ranger XL and I love it. But, I don't need Ford's help to keep it running since I can use Chevy parts. SO! Tell your folks I say to hell with Ford.
