Whether or not they'd go over here in the US, I have a feeling a "Mc Falafel" would be terrible.

That reminds me, I haven't had one in a while. I need to cruise up to Westheimer soon and chow down.

Houston has something like 10,000 restaurants (not counting chains); you can get pretty much anything here. From Sushi and Dim Sum, to Persian food, Indian cuisine, and the obvious down-home southern stuff (there's one restaurant here called "Just Oxtails"

), and cajun whatnot. That's one thing I can say is definately a plus to living here.

We've got plenty of it over here in Philly. Iowa too if you live in a university city at least.
That said do not tempt McDonalds. They tried to do a cheesesteak (at least it was cheap). And I forget which fast food resturant it was, but one of them introduced the general American populace to the Gyro (their commercials had people mispronouncing it horribly and ending with telling you how to say it right).
I wouldn't put it past them.
And they may be my only hope for a falafel bacon cheeseburger. Maybe cool ranch falafel? Who knows what could happen?

For those of you who don't know he isn't kidding about the McLobster. Though I'm not sure if that was their official name.
Actually McDonalds around the world do a lot of different stuff. Croque monsieur varients are popular and if you go in a foreign country it turns out there is frequently something regional.

Yeah, Quebec McDick's has poutine and I hear Newfoundland has Newfie Poutine at their McDonalds.
Edit: Pretty sure I saw grits at one in the US.

The one I went to on Maui had fish cakes, roe, and rice balls for breakfast (Large Japanese population/tourist trade.)
