That is impressive. He pretty much knew he would die. I wonder what his last thoughts were (Or what would have been his last thoughts if he had died)
Even though the body armour took the hit wouldnt the blast still bugger up him insides.

It would be absorbed by his rucksack/body armour as well as being distributed across both. It wouldn't feel good and he'd likely have a bunch of bruises but it shouldn't turn his liver to mush (for example).

Ha thats actually what I thought would happen. Like when you wobble a bowl of jelly it forms all those tears in it.

If he had been unamoured and jumped on a blast grenade, then yes. A regular grenade would perforate him, there's very little blast from them.
