The larger version seems to work best.
Most personal vessels are about the Millenium Falcan's size because the smaller shuttles don't have the speed and range to cross the distance between star systems
The ship will probably use M/AM drives since it is fairly common, and replacement parts would be easier to find.

Cool. That looks a lot better.
So, we got some stats worked out for this ship, yet?

They are still up in the air until we pin down the number and type of weapons. Federation and Klingon weapons would be ideal since replacement parts would be easier to obtain. Cardassian weapons may be more available after the war. It might even be possible to capture those phased poloron beams used by the dominion, although keeping them in working conditiong could be a challenge.

Okay, then.
Though I imagine that if we wanted polaron cannons, we'd have to salvage them ourselves before any governments do. I can imagine the various powers wanting to investigate these weapons.

Well, the Federation had defences against the poloron weapons by the time the War started. They probably gave the information to their allies, the Klingons and Romulans. The Breen and Cardassians also were allies of the Dominion. The only major powers that wouldn't have much info on it are the Tholians, Gorn, maybe a few other powers that had 'non-aggresion' pacts

Hmm, good point.
Well, since it's your ship, I guess you're the one who is going to decide on the armament the ship'll have.

Just as a note to weapons mix-- fixed disruptors are probably not a good idea, since you have to point the ship to aim. However souped up she is, she's still a cargo ship. They could make useful turreted emplacements, but of course turrets have their own parts and maintenance problems.
Phaser arrays would be a common sight for navigational purposes, and no one has to know how powerful they are. Torpedo launchers are something I'd expect a lot of governments to not approve of for civilian use, so they'd have to be hidden one way or another.

As I had mentioned, torps need resupply as well - I think energy weapons should be the emphasis. Maybe we could have salvaged one of the uber-phasers that were nose-mounted on the Galor-class?

I second that Galor-phasers idea. I had the same thought earlier, but I didn't want to make the ship seem super uber dooper powerful like before.Mikey wrote:As I had mentioned, torps need resupply as well - I think energy weapons should be the emphasis. i'm guessing that we are using Jordanis ship?
If not did up landing struts for concept 3.
lands on her belly for unload. the bays would run the hole langth of the ship. crew quarters and small stoage on top. phaser armements could run the wingspan. torp ports are an easy plug in. added a place for an external sensor grid, or extra componets. its on bottom infront of the nessel.

Sounds like a good idea. Having that as our main weapon would give the ship a nice punch in combat.Mikey wrote:Maybe we could have salvaged one of the uber-phasers that were nose-mounted on the Galor-class?
Pfft. This is Trek. There's effectively a sign on the door saying "Please leave your common sense before entering. Thank you."Rochey - I still get a kick out of an extraterrestrial insectoid, with completely alien mouth parts, whose native tongue is Irish Gaelic.

Given that I try my best to keep to reality when it comes to all other details of the species, I think a little liberty with the language wouldn't go astray.

Having this weapon may cause us to drop the number of other weapons we have, though. There's only so much power the generators can produce, and those things have to take a lot of power.Blackstar wrote:I had the same thought earlier, but I didn't want to make the ship seem super uber dooper powerful like before.
