Tsuki has a point. Who for each team? Roland and Bauer for infiltration, definitely.

I like how rochey is already using the word "Beaming".
I will be team 2. The Jaffa have nothing that can even dent my armor, let alone hurt me. I'll get their attention just fine...
Team 3 should be the Astartes, Primal, Rhinox, and our other warriors.

Re: Crossover OOC Discussion
Well, I figured that a direct assault would just result in us getting killed by superior numbers, or at least taking a number of casualties. Sneaking into a base guarded by thousands is rather unlikely, and I seriously doubt Anubis is just going to hand over this stuff. Thus, we create a diversion; first with negotiations, making Anubis think we're all talk, secondly with a sudden and major attack on the base's perimiter by our more powerful members, making Anubis think that a serious attack is underway. He deploys his troops there, leaving fewer troops to guard elsewhere. Our more stealthy members beam in, and have a much easier time of getting to our objective. This way, fewer people are likely to die, and we utilise everyone's strength inteligently.Tsukiyumi wrote:Your plan works for me.
Anyway, it's exactly the sort of plan Cain'd come up with. Send you lot off to do the dangerous job while he sits up on the safe and comfy spaceship playing diplomat. 8)
My thoughts:RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:Tsuki has a point. Who for each team? Roland and Bauer for infiltration, definitely.
Team 2 (assault):
Xan
Iceman
Phebes
Ashok
Optimus Primal
Rhinox
Huron-Fel
Kozuki
That should give us some good, solid firepower that can present a serious enough impression of a major assault
Team 3 (infiltration):
Bauer
Roland
Dietrich (would be good to have a medic along, and that flamethrower might come in handy in the base's coridors)
Arawden
Dothude
Those guys have good experience in recon, and know how to keep quiet.
Anyone I haven't mentioned I'm unsure of, due to not knowing enough about their characters.

Yeah, that definitely works. 8)

Sorry, I thought both teams were assualt teams.
Rochey, here's a better plan list.
Team One,
Those aboard ship.
Team Two, infiltration.
Bauer
Roland
Dietrich
Arawden
Dothude
Team Three, Assualt diversion
Xan
Iceman
Phebes
Ashok
Optimus Primal
Rhinox
Kozuki
Team Four, Cover, Block the enemy from sending anyone into the base after 3rd team draws them out.
Huron-Fel to stand by the big door.

Re: Crossover OOC Discussion
I seriously doubt that the entire base is going to have one entrance that can be conviniently held by one tank. They can just go around you.
You're also assuming that the entire force will be drawn out, which is rather unlikely. A reserve element will most likely be held back.
Also, your presence there would draw the enemy back towards the base, and also tip them off that our forces have gotten inside their base.
Given that we'd have just been negotiating with them for certain things they have, they'll put two and two together rather quickly and realise we're after their stuff. Then the reserve element inside the base will move on our objectives, getting our handful of infiltrators involved in a firefight against perhaps hundreds of enemy troops. Meanwhile, enemy force from the main unit will split up, with one group holding Units 2 and 4 in place, preventing them from aiding Unit 3, while the second group bypasses Unit 4 and catched Unit 3 in a pincer movement inside the base itself, wiping them out.

I don't know about the others, but with a full compliment of ammo, Roland could literally decimate un-helmeted Jaffa. He almost always hits what he's aiming for, which would include those tattoos on their foreheads.Rochey wrote:...Then the reserve element inside the base will move on our objectives, getting our handful of infiltrators involved in a firefight against perhaps hundreds of enemy troops...

Cain doesn't think he's gonna get to sit this out does he? True to form, somethings going to happen to get him dragged along.
Are we rescuing the humie slaves though?
Dietrich's incinerator should make short work of them in the corridors as well, Jaffa armour won't hold well against fire, what with all that chainmail and open space.I don't know about the others, but with a full compliment of ammo, Roland could literally decimate un-helmeted Jaffa. There were ha'taks mentioned in being in orbit... wou;dn't that also mean they've got death gliders?
And I think most of the characters here would be loathe to leaving the humans behind.

Re: Crossover OOC Discussion
Poor Zanitav was over looked by both of you. He really wants to command the battle as he thinks Janeway is an incompetent idiot.
Xan on the other hand could work well also in the inflitration. His translocator and weapons are designed for corridors and areas with a lot of cover / boxes.

How many Minbari does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

Use the ship as fire support, if she can take out the death gliders and hold off the Hataks long enough. If Huron-Fel is outdoors, he can be used to bring down aircraft.RK_Striker_JK_5 wrote:There were ha'taks mentioned in being in orbit... wou;dn't that also mean they've got death gliders?

Re: Crossover OOC Discussion
Gould bases normally have only two entry points. One at the front door, being a large loading bay. The other is a personel entrence which is used by servents. Most movements in and out of the base is handled by Ring Platforms, which can be easily jammed.I seriously doubt that the entire base is going to have one entrance that can be conviniently held by one tank. They can just go around you.

Team 2 enters first... followed by team 3 launching its attack. When the enemy moves to engage, team 4 lands and attacks the outside of the base. This leaves the impression that we have yet to enter the base. It also puts the bulk of the enemy between two attacking forces.Rochey wrote:Given that we'd have just been negotiating with them for certain things they have, they'll put two and two together rather quickly and realise we're after their stuff. As to losses... who's going to get hurt on the assualt teams? Staff Weapons can't hurt Astartes or the Transformers. Huron-Fel can't be stopped by anything short of cannon and the Jaffa have never shown a ground mounted cannon able to do so. The forces inside will most likely be unseen for the entire battle.

Yeah Deathgliders can be shot down from small arms fire. No shields and weaksauce armor.Cpl Kendall wrote:Use the ship as fire support, if she can take out the death gliders and hold off the Hataks long enough. Good points, Kendall and Monroe. Primal's flight capability could come into play, too against them.

Re: Crossover OOC Discussion
I do suggest that we have the Protoss carrier commander (who's name slips my mind) command the ship. I wouldn't trust Lameway to deliver a package, let alone a battle.
