I think his comment is still relevant. To me it just strikes as a Vietnam era attitude. Should be blaming the politicans who force them in such hellish conditions not the soldiers. A lot of these guys and gals are kids. While its an atrocity if they do kill innocents it is a mental disorder as real as any war related one that causes people to commit heinous acts under the kind of intense pressure living in a war zone and not knowing who your friends or enemies are can cause.
That said, we digress.

No, I think you're misunderstanding my response. Canadian soldiers in general don't ask for any recognition or kudos for doing what is expected of us, giving up family, friends, moving around, deploying to shitholes. That's the job, why would that require anything but a paycheck, pension and the occasional thanks in return? I guess what I'm saying is that I don't understand the American attitude towards it's soldiers.[/qoute]
And I never have nor has many of the US armed forces. I was making a comment in regaurds to your perceived attack on those of us that do serve. The attitude that America has to its troops as of now is mostly one of we understand that its not your alls fault your over there, we understand what you have to do, we understand what you gave up. The ire of the people is rightly directed at the politians and those that have screwed up, who sent us over there, and who put themselves over the greater good. Also your comment can easily be taken as a dismissal based on some of your past comments about the American Military, if that wasn't the intent then no harm was done and lets just put the issue to rest before this goes any further.

Fine with me.

I'll apologize for the earlier Moron comment. I can be a bit of an arsehole when I argue.
Now I am not a mod, but I feel that we should have a little curb on something. Let's just leave the comments on anyone's military out of it. Doesn't matter jack to this discussion, and its turning into a Country Vs. Country flame war. Cool it, I don't particularly want to see another thread splayed with snotty-coloured writing.

You'd have to do a lot worse than this to piss us off.
If there was nothing but insults, sure we'd do something as it achives nothing, but so long as there a debate hidden in there something you can pretty much say what ever you like.
Dont troll and your sweet.

Apparently Obama said he's considering asking the Senate to remove this provision.

At the very least that'll help relations.
