Does the US import any oil from Russia? If they do then that course of action would just hurt themselves.

Its ranked like 10th or something on our oil import.

Russia broke the ceasefire already. Also Georgia beat Russia in an Olympic game. That would have been interesting to watch.

None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

The Georgian and Russian girls gave each other a big hug, too.

Meanwhile, King George (going along with other world powers, surprisingly) is calling for "something" to be done about reports of Russia breaking the cease-fire and continuing to advance through Gori toward Tbilisi.

First of all while the US can impose sanctions we can't even get all the freakin' eurocountries to stop importing oil from Iran. Forget Russia. Consider their military funded indefinitly.

That's another reason why I wish we could get a meaningful EU. Nearly everyone talks about how the world should use more diplomacy. But without anything resembling a united front diplomatic measures like sanctions are mostly worthless.

Well what the hell do you expect us to do? Cut off our own sources of oil?

Well, looks like someone just broke reality.

Bush is talking sense

In other news, according to the Russian government there are no Russian troops outside South Ossetia. According to the Russian squaddie Channel 4 News were talking to in Gori, they're there, they've been been there for three days, and they're there because they're supposed to be there.

Just like they're supposed to use it as a base to stage an attack on Tbilisi, right?

On a side note I bet Russia's neighbors will be more willing to have that missile defense shield

This is nice - so much for Russia even using the excuse of defending it's erstwhile citizens in Sout Ossetia:

Russia says "forget" Georgia's territorial definitions.

I really like the bit where Colonel Nogovitsyn says that it's the Georgian's fault... I guess by being the first party to the cease-fire, they somehow made Russia want to cripple their capability and set up for an advance on Tbilisi...

Oh, but he's quite right! The Us doesn't invade countries, it liberates them. :US:
