About 2 months ago when Ian worked out all the prices for us you were paying about half of the UK was and NZ was a bit bellow them.

But we pay: $180 every 6 months for a warrent, $240 every year for a rego, over all $590 for a licence, and a $220 driving lesson.

You also pay more if you drive a dessel or bigger car.

Regestration. Its the government taking money off you every year so that they can prove you are still you and still own your car...

Ah, yes, we pay that too. Well, the person who owns the car I drive pays it. :D
We don't pay that much, but I don't know the value of your dollar verses our dollar.

Our registrations are based on weight class (under or over 3500 lbs.) or, for pickup trucks and commercial vehicles, on GVWR or passenger capacity. My wife just reneewed hers - for a compact car, it was $49 US for a year.

And if anything, Sarkozy at least should be talking a little tougher. I understand your position, Rochey (although he's going to kick Eire out soon enough :P ) but he can't speak his mind then let himself get peed on by Putin.

Registration? to me, thats the number on the plate which is age rand location related.

We pay Tax. Which is based on emissions. Under 110, i think its £35, over i think it goes up steadily. Insurance is based on engine sizes. Tiny 1.0's being group 1 and HUGE engine things (like 5-6 litre) being group 20.
